East Mount Barren Trail Head

Access to this trail requires pass access which is usually $15 per car. There is plenty of parking, but no amenities near the start. It's a 2.6km return and grade 4 difficulty.The trail tricks you into a fall sense of comfort with an introductory board walk, but then leads to a fairly steep gravel climb, which can be tricky for some. We climbed this in the late morning and was exposed to strong winds. The remainder of the trail is a combo of gravel, rocks, dirt and towards the end a bit of a climb over some rocks. The ending is worthy of the efforts with views all round, but was extremely windy in sections. A worthy hike, but not easy for everyone.The trail is only marked on two sections, but it's a pretty easy trail to follow.Trousers recommended for the narrower parts, short sleeves are fine. Glasses recommended for when winds blast the eyes! I wouldn't want to do it in the wet.

Great track, amazing views. Some parts of the track are quite hard to keep traction with smooth rock surfaces or the loose rocks. Incline isn't too bad until you get right to the top. Well kept area.

Fantastic day walk to top of East Mt Barren, a bit of a scramble at the top which is fun. Would be slippery in wet as quartz pathway and rough at times. View a from top are spectacular wotlrth taking lunch up an spending some time

Beautiful hike up the mountain,the trail is quit over grown near the top but there are arrows.

Amazing hike! Short in distance but will take 90 minutes due to uphill rock scrambling. Lots to explore at the top.

Bit of a climb all right, wear correct shoes, don't do on hot day, not many direction arrows, but the view is fantastic which makes it well worth while
